On the night of June 8-9, explosions occurred in Cheboksary, Russia, which, according to reports, were the result of a drone attack. Information about this came from local sources.

The head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolayev, confirmed that two drones fell onto the territory of the VNIIR enterprise, resulting in a temporary halt to production to ensure the safety of workers.

“All emergency units are working in an intensified mode; the situation is under control,” Nikolayev said.

According to information from the Russian Telegram channel Shot, residents of the city saw at least three drones. Following this, a series of powerful explosions were heard, accompanied by thick, black smoke. It is noted that at least six explosions occurred in Cheboksary.

According to Russian media, drones struck the VNIIR-Progress enterprise, which has close ties to the Russian Defense Ministry and specializes in the development of navigation equipment.
