Oschadbank became a participant in the scandal with card issuance: even pensioners suffer
Oschadbank has come under fire for allegedly forcing senior citizens to buy additional services during the card application process. In particular, one of the complaints appeared on the bank’s official Facebook page.
A Ukrainian man and his father visited the branch and were informed that the pension card would be ready in two weeks, provided they purchased insurance worth UAH 150. The client expressed indignation at this practice, asking whether the bank was a government agency or simply a fraudulent scheme.
Responding to the complaint, Oschadbank representatives noted that the normal delivery time for the card is indeed 14 days. Still, if the card is available at the branch, it is issued immediately. They emphasized that the offer of insurance is voluntary and depends on the client’s personal decision.
However, the complainant claims that the bank is being systematically abused by employees who pressure clients into purchasing such services. He cited the example of another person who was also told that to get a card, it is necessary to pay 150 UAH for insurance.
This time, the financial institution did not respond to the secondary complaint.
Previously, the media actively discussed cases of delayed payments from Oschadbank, as well as the difficulties Ukrainians faced in receiving their pensions and salaries. There were also reports of accounts being seized without warning, which raised new questions about the work of financial institutions in Ukraine.
