Operation GUR in Kaliningrad: substation caught fire, Russian army left without electricity

Agents of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine carried out a successful operation in the Russian city of Koenigsberg, targeting a critical industrial substation.

According to information received from intelligence sources, the operation took place on June 14 at approximately 4 a.m. The Ukrainian agents drained the coolant from the transformer and then set the facility on fire. This action led to a significant fire, resulting in the power supply being disabled. Preliminary estimates of the damage caused to Russia are approximately $5 million.

The de-energized substation supplied electricity to several facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex, as well as part of the military infrastructure, including warehouses and repair bases that support the army’s logistics in the region.

This strike was part of a systematic campaign by Ukrainian intelligence aimed at reducing the effectiveness of Russia’s rear infrastructure and slowing the production and transportation of weapons to the front. Koenigsberg, where the Baltic Fleet and air defense systems are located, is of great strategic importance to the occupiers.

Earlier, on June 14, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also attacked Russian explosives and ammunition factories, in particular in Samara and Nevinnomyssk.
