Explosion in Kramatorsk dormitory: teenager killed, two children seriously injured
A tragic road accident occurred in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, on June 13: an explosion in a dormitory killed a 15-year-old boy, and two other children were seriously injured and are in hospital. The police are investigating the causes of the incident.
According to a spokesman for the Donetsk regional police, the explosion occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. while two brothers, aged 13 and 15, were in their friend’s room. It turned out that the detonator exploded as a result of the action of a dangerous object.
The 15-year-old teenager, who was injured, was urgently taken to hospital, but, unfortunately, doctors were unable to save him. His younger brother and another 15-year-old boy are currently in a severe condition, and doctors are making every effort to save their lives.
According to doctors from Dnipro, the condition of both injured children remains extremely serious: they received shrapnel wounds and multiple fractures.
In addition, another boy, a six-year-old boy, who was under the windows at the time of the explosion, required medical attention. He was hospitalized with minor injuries, but his life is not in danger.
As part of the investigation, the police opened a criminal case to establish the circumstances of the explosion and the source of the dangerous object that the children could have been dealing with.
Law enforcement agencies emphasize the need to be especially cautious with unknown objects, as ammunition remnants may be present in various locations, including residential buildings and streets, in frontline zones.
Also, recently, a car belonging to a territorial procurement center exploded in the Berezivskyi district of the Odessa region; one person died as a result of the incident.
