Історичне досягнення: український проєкт отримав золоту нагороду на фестивалі креативності в Каннах

Historic achievement: Ukrainian project receives gold award at Cannes Film Festival

Ukraine has won a gold award for the first time at one of the most prestigious international festivals of creativity — Cannes Lions.

This information was announced by Andriy Sibiga, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The gold in the Sustainable Development Goals category was awarded to the project “Minefield Honey,” developed by the Saatchi & Saatchi Ukraine agency. The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness of the problem of mined areas in Ukraine and attract international assistance for their demining.

Special drones plant honey plants in mined fields, and bees that do not perceive mines collect nectar in these areas. The nectar is then used to make symbolic “Minefield Honey.” For the safety of beekeepers, hives are installed only in safe places that have already been demined.

Andriy Sibiha noted the award as an important recognition of the creativity of Ukrainians and an example of how creativity can play a significant social role, even in times of war.

In addition to the gold award, the project received a bronze Lion in the Creative Commerce category and was shortlisted for the Titanium Lions. Other Ukrainian companies, such as Starlight Media and Arriba, were also awarded bronze and shortlisted in their categories.
