Ukraine has imposed sanctions on individuals involved in the production of drones in Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions on individuals and companies involved in the production of drones in Russia. The document was published on the Office of the President’s website.
The new restrictions target developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of uncrewed aerial vehicles that are actively used by the Russian military on the front lines. In particular, these include the Geran, Orlan-10, SuperCam drones, FPV platforms, and supplies to Alabuga Machinery LLC.
The individuals subject to sanctions include those who:
- import and supply components to Kronshtadt JSC, the manufacturer of Banderol drones;
- participate in schemes to circumvent international sanctions by supplying dual-use goods.
In total, the list includes 56 individuals and 55 legal entities.
These measures are part of Ukraine’s strategic sanctions policy aimed at weakening the Russian military-industrial complex, which is adapting to Western pressure and increasing drone production.
Experts have previously noted that Ukraine’s technological advantage in the field of UAVs is gradually decreasing. The Russian side is actively mastering serial production, particularly of long-range drones, and is currently capable of producing up to 5,000 units per month.
Military analysts warn of a possible two-fold increase in drone attacks, which could reach 800 “shaheeds” per evening, which would become a serious threat to Ukrainian air defense.
