The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed two Russian Su-34s at an airfield in the Volgograd region

Ukrainian military units, in conjunction with the Security Service, successfully conducted an operation behind enemy lines, targeting an airfield in Marynivka, in the Volgograd region of Russia.

The attack destroyed two SU-34 fighter bombers and damaged two others. Russian forces actively use these aircraft to carry out strikes on Ukraine, including the dropping of guided bombs.

The operation was carried out using drones, which accurately targeted the technical area of the airfield, a critical component for aircraft operations, as their repair, refueling, and preparation for flights are all conducted there.

A large fire broke out at the airfield after the explosions. According to Ukrainian forces, the damage caused will significantly affect the combat capability of Russian aviation forces in this region.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasize that military facilities, even those located far from the front line, remain a legitimate target. This is especially relevant for aviation that carries out attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.

“Together with our comrades, we continue to work on weakening the aviation capabilities of the Russian army. Military airfields and aircraft deep behind enemy lines are legitimate targets for Ukraine!” – stated the special operations unit.
