Free vacation for military personnel and their families at a sanatorium: how to get a voucher

In Ukraine, veterans receive benefits for sanatorium and resort treatment.

In Ukraine, benefits for participants in hostilities include discounts and free services, including the right to sanatorium and resort treatment. This right applies to veterans, their relatives, and close relatives of fallen defenders. The Ministry of Veterans of Ukraine provided the relevant information.

Who is covered by free sanatorium treatment?

According to existing legislation, the following categories of citizens can join free rest:

participants in hostilities – once a year, up to 21 days;
persons with disabilities as a result of the war – once a year out of turn;
participants in the war and members of the families of the deceased – once every two years, up to 21 days;
persons with disabilities since childhood – on a waiting list.
The state covers not only the costs of the trip and treatment but also the transportation costs to reach the recovery site. If necessary, persons accompanying people with disabilities can receive a voucher without medical services.

If a person has not used their right to sanatorium treatment during the year, they can transfer it to the following year. It is also possible to receive monetary compensation instead of a voucher.

Earlier, it was reported about possible discounts on utility services for some Ukrainians, as well as about free food packages for pensioners – who are entitled to receive them and where to apply.
