Main events of June 21: women’s mobilization, military in schools, heat in Ukraine and cancellation of utility bills

Ukrainian educational institutions are introducing new courses and attracting teachers – who will become part of the teaching staff.

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science, has developed methodological recommendations for employing war veterans as teachers in the subject “Defense of Ukraine.” These recommendations are approved by a joint order, which provides veterans with the opportunity to transfer their practical knowledge of military affairs, tactical medicine, civil defense, and security to students. The combat experience of veterans is not only useful from a practical perspective but also has a significant impact on the patriotic education of young people.

Over the coming months, the likelihood of dry weather in Ukraine is expected to increase significantly, and according to the forecast, summer 2025 is predicted to be exceptionally hot. Professor Vera Balabukh explained that it is still impossible to predict exact temperature indicators. This is due to global climatic processes that cover the atmosphere and the ocean. However, according to the latest models, summer temperatures in Ukraine may exceed the usual norms by 1-2 degrees, with exceptionally high indicators in July and August.

As of July 1, 2025, new mobilization rules will take effect in Ukraine, clearly defining who is subject to conscription and who is eligible for a deferral. Everyone who is registered in the military is subject to mobilization, but under certain conditions, they can receive a deferral. The legislation allows Ukrainians to partially exempt themselves from paying utility bills in cases of prolonged absence from the premises, provided the absence is documented.

Maryana Bezugla, a deputy from the Servants of the People party, spoke about the need to involve women in mobilization activities, especially in the field of defense production and logistics structures. According to her, it is impossible to win a war without utilizing all available resources, and women can significantly contribute to the army in tasks ranging from logistics to weapons production.
