Pensioners have the opportunity to increase their payments: an important nuance from the PFU
Citizens of Ukraine planning to retire can increase their payments if they provide a certificate of salary for individual years before 2000. This possibility was emphasized in the Pension Fund.
According to current rules, when calculating the pension, the official salary is taken into account, starting from July 2000. This period marked the introduction of the Register of Insured Persons, which records data on paid contributions and income.
However, there is an exception that can positively affect the size of the pension. If a person had a higher income for the period before July 1, 2000, they can provide a voluntary certificate of income for any 60 consecutive months. This may be particularly important for those who worked part-time, had a highly specialized qualification, or held a well-paid position during those years.
This certificate is only required if the person does not have at least five years of insurance experience after July 1, 2000.
The certificate must be issued by:
The enterprise or organization where the person worked;
the legal successor of this enterprise;
Or an archival institution if the organization is liquidated.
Pension Fund specialists advise checking the availability of relevant documents in advance and, if necessary, contacting the archive. Such a step can significantly increase the monthly pension payment amount.
It was also reported that Ukrainians can demand a recalculation of their pension if it does not meet their satisfaction.
Additionally, a 10% increase was announced for pensioners: find out who will receive this increase.
Moreover, pensioners may be eligible for an additional payment of 2,000 hryvnias under certain circumstances.
