CCC promises strict control: Ukrainians were told where to turn in case of violations by military enlistment offices

The newly appointed Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced that the prosecutor’s office will actively respond to any illegal actions by employees of territorial recruitment and social support centers. He assured that any violation of the law by the CCC would have serious legal consequences.

Kravchenko emphasized the importance of a prompt response by law enforcement agencies, noting that if a crime is detected, criminal cases will be initiated, investigative actions will be taken to gather evidence, and other procedural measures will be implemented. The guilty may be declared suspects, and the cases will be transferred to court. The law must apply to all citizens, including CCC employees.

In addition, Kravchenko also raised the issue of combating corruption, promising that the prosecutor’s office will continue to closely cooperate with anti-corruption bodies, in particular the NABU and the SAPO. He emphasized that their joint activities are already yielding results, and this cooperation will be further strengthened.

Discussing the problems related to the legality of the CCC’s actions, he noted that the number of complaints from citizens has increased significantly. Since March, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, has recorded an increase in appeals related to human rights violations. In particular, complaints most often came from the Kharkiv region. As of May 1, 2024, the Ombudsman’s Office received 1,560 such appeals.

Kravchenko confirmed that all appeals regarding possible violations will be carefully considered. In the event of an abuse of authority or violation of official duties by CCC employees, the prosecutor’s office will take the necessary measures by current legislation.
