DBR: State losses exceeded UAH 6.4 billion over half a year due to criminal acts

In the first half of 2025, the State Bureau of Investigation recorded crimes that resulted in losses to the state totaling more than UAH 6.467 billion. In particular, these are cases that directly affect Ukraine’s economic security, defense, and budget.

According to the department, the amount of bribes received by persons involved in criminal proceedings exceeds UAH 30 million. To compensate for the losses, the DBR initiated the seizure of property belonging to suspects and accused totaling more than 1 billion 658 million hryvnias. Some of these funds have been refunded to the budget, over UAH 210 million.

The bureau states that it continues to work actively, despite the challenging wartime conditions. The primary objective is to combat corruption, strengthen the law, and bring to justice all those who harm the state.

In addition, it should be noted that:

• One of the officials from the Dnieper is suspected of increasing the cost of purchasing beds for military units, which could lead to overpayment by almost 10 million hryvnias.
• The investigation into the deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre in Volyn Oblast, who is suspected of illegally using land resources, has been completed.
