Pensioners will face a choice: who will not be able to receive their salary and pension?
In Ukraine, some pensioners who decide to continue working will have to choose between salary and pension payments. This is based on the materials of the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.
In particular, we refer to former police officers who, upon retirement, return to active service. In such cases, the current legislation may suspend receiving a pension.
The right to a special pension is granted to former employees of the National Police units, including:
- criminal police;
- patrol police;
- investigative bodies;
- security police;
- special units;
- special purpose police;
- other structures established in agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The main condition for receiving a pension is final dismissal from service. If a pensioner decides to rejoin the police, the pension payment will be automatically suspended. After re-dismissal, the pension may be reinstated, with the new period of service counted towards the total length of service.
There are certain exceptions in which the pension is not terminated, even if the person continues to serve. This applies to police officers called up for military service under a contract, as well as persons who will occupy positions in the special police.
Recently, it has also become known that the government has approved special supplements that will be added to pensions, social benefits, and scholarships. Information about the possibility of receiving additional payments for pensioners has also aroused great interest.
In particular, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has adopted new indicators for calculating pensions, which enable the receipt of almost 500 hryvnias more.
