Price changes for other popular grains: which products have become more expensive in supermarkets

Prices for basic cereals in Ukrainian supermarkets

Under the influence of the rapid increase in prices in supermarkets, Ukrainians are starting to switch to cheaper products. Cereals remain affordable, despite some price fluctuations, which are visible from the latest monitoring on the Ministry of Finance portal.

Buckwheat

Buckwheat prices have remained stable for several months. On average, the cost is about 34.10 hryvnia per kilogram, although in some stores the price may exceed 43 hryvnia per kilogram.

Rice

Long-grain rice has not changed its cost and will cost an average of 58.50 hryvnia per kilogram. Parboiled rice has become much cheaper – its average price has decreased to 54.10 hryvnia per kilogram. The amount of round rice continues to be the highest, with an average cost of 70.37 hryvnia per kilogram; over the past month the price has fallen by about 1.5 hryvnia.

Semolina and millet

Prices for “Khutorok” semolina have increased significantly: it now costs 32.91 hryvnias per 800 grams, compared to 29.41 hryvnias. As for millet, its cost has decreased slightly – from 24.46 to 24.43 hryvnias per kilogram, making this cereal the most economical choice among all.

Against the background of rising prices for other products, supermarkets have also intensified the reduction of prices for young vegetables. Consumers still have the opportunity to choose between different product options that remain affordable.
