Which men over 50 are subject to call: an explanation of a lawyer

Men aged 50-60 are called based on general conditions. Although such conscripts are usually not sent to the front, sometimes there are exceptions.

The lawyer of the law company Riyako & Partners, Kateryna Anishchenko, reported this.

According to the instructions of the commander of the Armed Forces, service members in this age category are mobilized to the security units. However, some of them can perform tasks in combat areas.

“Customers who are over 50 years old say that they are simply registered, without handing over combat stories. But it should be acknowledged that these people are also serving,” Kateryna Anishchenko emphasized.

As she noted, the Directive is only an explanation, not a law to be automatically executed. During martial law, the conscription of citizens to military service is regulated by the legislation of Ukraine. If a man in the specified age category has no deferral or booking, he can be mobilized.

Larisa Kozak, Deputy Chief of the RTC in Kiev, noted that mobilized persons aged 50+ usually perform the role of drivers, tractors, and rear. She claims that throughout her entire work, she did not observe men of this age being sent to the zones of active fighting.
