Polish MP compared the slogan “Glory to Ukraine!” to the Nazi salute
A scandalous incident occurred during a parliamentary debate in the Polish Sejm. Roman Fritz, a representative of the far-right Confederation party, harshly criticized his colleague Klaudia Jacira for her phrase “Glory to Ukraine!”, which she uttered after her speech.
Fritz called the gesture “shameful behavior,” claiming that something like this had never happened before in the history of the Polish parliament. He characterized it as a “Bandera-like and Nazi” act.
“We witnessed shameful behavior – Bandera-like and Nazi! This has never happened in the Polish Sejm. It was as if someone had shouted ‘Sieg heil!'” Fritz noted in his speech.
The slogan “Glory to Ukraine!” is a national greeting that Ukrainians have used for decades, including during the Revolution of Dignity and the war with Russia, symbolizing resistance, independence, and patriotism.
Fritz’s speech has already caused outrage in society. Some Polish politicians and public figures have called for the condemnation of such statements, which, in their opinion, humiliate not only Ukraine but also international support in the fight against aggression.
