Attack on Lozova: Russian troops destroyed the train station, there are casualties and injuries

On the night of August 4-5, Russian troops carried out a massive strike on the railway infrastructure of the city of Lozova, located in the Kharkiv region. According to the State Emergency Service and the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov, more than 30 strike drones were used during the attack.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that the city’s railway station was destroyed as a result of the shelling. Other railway infrastructure facilities, residential buildings, and an energy facility were also damaged. The attack caused at least six fires in administrative and warehouse buildings, and the roof of the station also caught fire.

The explosions killed two people, including a railway mechanic on duty and a woman who died in hospital. An additional nine people were injured, including two teenagers – a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy. Four of the wounded are in the hospital in moderate condition.

In most cases, residents managed to take shelter in time, and doctors are providing all necessary medical assistance to the injured.

Due to damage to the infrastructure, train No. 66/65 (Uman – Cherkasy – Kharkiv) has changed its route and is now running on a bypass route. Similar changes are also expected for other trains heading to Kramatorsk. Passengers traveling to or from Lozova will be transported by buses to Panyutynoye.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the attack took place from approximately 2:30 to 3:00 am.
