Strong magnetic storms will hit Ukraine during August – dates

In August 2025, we can expect a series of magnetic storms that will affect the functioning of technology and the general well-being of people. The Space Weather Forecasting Center provides this information.

Experts indicate that the highest geomagnetic fluctuations are possible in the first half of the month, while the second part of it promises to be more stable. Numerous powerful geomagnetic storms are predicted throughout August, as well as several storms of medium strength.

Strong red-level geostorms (Kr-5 and above) are expected on August 7, 9, 11, 13, and 19, while storms of medium intensity are predicted for August 4, 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 20, and 22.

The G-index, which reflects the level of intensity of a geomagnetic storm, varies from 1 to 5, and it is related to the K-index by adding 4 to it. For example, a G1 storm corresponds to a K-index of 5. The K-index is used to determine the strength of magnetic storms, measuring geomagnetic activity on a scale from 0 to 9.

It is essential to understand that solar activity is unpredictable and can change at any time. Therefore, it is recommended to constantly monitor data on solar flares and geomagnetic activity, as well as pay attention to your health.

Doctors note that increased solar activity, caused by magnetic disturbances, can negatively affect health, particularly people with cardiovascular diseases and those who are sensitive to changes in the weather. Although magnetic storms rarely pose a serious threat, they can cause headaches, sleep problems, blood pressure fluctuations, increased anxiety, and heart rhythm disturbances.
