Nighttime missile and suicide attacks: expert reveals aggressor’s tactics
Russia continues to strike at Ukrainian rear areas, in particular, using drones, mainly at night. These actions are accompanied by missile attacks, which have their reasons, as explained by military expert Ivan Stupak.
The primary objective of the night attack tactic is to enhance targeting effectiveness and diminish Ukrainian air defense capabilities. At the beginning of the war, drones were launched during the day, but later the enemy changed its strategy, focusing attacks on the night. This makes it difficult to detect and destroy drones.
The expert noted that night drone launches significantly increase the chances of hitting targets, since they are much more difficult to detect in the dark. In addition, this is an element of psychological warfare, which creates additional stress and anxiety among the civilian population.
“Launching drones at night provides the occupiers with better hit on targets, since the capabilities of our air defense to intercept are limited,” the expert emphasized.
Thus, such attacks contribute not only to physical danger, but also to emotional exhaustion of people, disturbing their sleep and peace.
“Russia is using a comprehensive approach: on the one hand, it increases the chances of being hit, on the other hand, it demoralizes Ukrainians with constant night attacks,” Stupak added.
We will remind that Ukraine has introduced strict restrictions in connection with night attacks, in particular, new rules for drivers. In addition, it became known about the occupiers’ intentions to conduct a large-scale offensive, including with the participation of military personnel from the DPRK, as well as about their efforts to isolate key Ukrainian cities.
