Drug cartel with Telegram channel and psychotropic drugs worth a million hryvnias exposed in Bukovina

In Chernivtsi, law enforcement officers have launched an investigation into a drug trafficking network operating through the Telegram platform. Drugs worth more than one million hryvnias were seized at the scene.

This criminal activity was organized by a 30-year-old man who sold psychotropic drugs through a specially created channel on Telegram.

The scheme operated in such a way that customers paid for the ordered drugs with cards, and the drugs themselves were distributed anonymously around the city.

During a search of the suspect, law enforcement officers who took up the case found a large amount of psychotropic substances, including hundreds of packages of alpha-PVP, 61 packages of cannabis, scales, and special phones used for sales. The total value of the seized drugs was estimated at over one million hryvnias.

It remains unknown how law enforcement officers were able to track down the drug dealer.

The Origin of Drugs in Bukovina

Representatives of the local branch of the organization “Stop Corruption” suggest that drug dealers from Eastern Ukraine may have moved to the territory of Bukovina, who are trying to resume their activities, which is confirmed by some unofficial sources.

Activists note that the distribution of psychotropic substances is becoming an increasingly urgent problem; their goal is to expose drug dealers in the region.

Given these circumstances, residents are advised to be attentive and promptly report any suspicious situations to law enforcement, because all participants in the drug trade must be held accountable for their actions.

“This is unacceptable and deserves the strictest punishment, both in wartime and in peacetime,” said one of the representatives of the organization.

As noted earlier, the situation with drug trafficking in Bukovina requires further monitoring to identify its origin and develop effective prevention methods.

By the way, the National Police recently closed the proceedings on the incident related to the statements of the head of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration, Alena Atamanyuk, addressed to the head of the Department for Veterans’ Policy, Valery Vivcharyuk.

It was previously reported that after this incident, Atamanyuk resigned by mutual agreement, but later, the information about the insult was denied, referring to official documents.
