Father and son created hiding places in trucks for illegal trafficking of men
On the outskirts of Izmail, law enforcement agencies detained two trucks in which three men were found without documents to leave the country.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine released this information.
A joint operation of border guards and other security forces in the Odessa region revealed a fraudulent scheme to smuggle young men to Romania illegally. The organizers of the crime turned out to be a father and son from the area who modified their trucks to create hidden compartments.
According to the State Border Guard Service, these hiding places were placed in telescopic hydraulic cylinders used to lift the trailer. The three men, who came from Zaporizhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Donetsk regions, were in the cab during the movement. Before the checkpoints, they moved to closed compartments where there was no access to air, which created a danger to their lives.
None of those detained could legally cross the state border. Each of them had to pay 8 thousand US dollars for the organization of such a trip.
A criminal case has been opened against the father and son, and reports have been drawn up against the passengers themselves for violating the rules of crossing the border.
