New requirements: how much money do Ukrainians need to travel to Poland?
As of August 2025, new financial requirements will take effect in Poland for Ukrainians planning to visit the country. Now, travelers must have documentation confirming that they have sufficient funds for their stay and return home.
If the trip lasts up to 4 days, tourists need to provide at least PLN 300 for the entire period. For longer trips, a minimum of PLN 75 is required per day of stay.
If you do not have a return ticket, it is essential to have the funds to purchase one. The amount you need to have depends on the direction:
PLN 200 – for neighboring countries (Ukraine, Lithuania, Slovakia, etc.);
PLN 500 – for other EU countries;
PLN 2,500 – for countries outside the European Union.
Compliance with these requirements is mandatory for crossing the Polish border. Border guards may check documents and verify the availability of funds; in the absence of confirmation, they may refuse entry. The Polish authorities also warn that in some cases, social benefits may be suspended if their receipt is found to be unjustified.
These rules apply to all Ukrainians planning to enter Poland.
