Forecasters have announced dangerous weather conditions in Ukraine: thunderstorms, hail and squalls
On Sunday, August 17, the weather in Ukraine promises to be cloudy with possible clearings. In some regions, short-term rains accompanied by thunderstorms are expected, and in some cases, hail and wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s are possible.
Specialists from the Ukrhydrometeorological Center provided this information.
Precipitation forecast
Forecasters predict rain in the north and most of the central regions, as well as in Transcarpathia, Prykarpattia, and the Khmelnytskyi region.
The temperature in the western and northern regions will fluctuate within +23…+28 °C;
in the other areas — +27…+32°.
Weather in Kyiv and the region
Rains and thunderstorms are also expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
The temperature in the capital during the day will be +26…+28°, at night — +17…+19°;
in the region — +23…+28°.
According to the Hydrometeorological Center, hail and wind gusts of 15–20 m/s are possible in the Kyiv region.
Warning of dangerous phenomena
A yellow level of danger has been declared in the Kyiv region and the capital. Meteorologists warn that the weather on August 17 may complicate the work of energy, construction, and utility companies, as well as pose risks to transportation.
Weather forecasts
Previously, weather forecasters reported that on August 16–17, sunny and warm weather would prevail in most regions under the influence of an anticyclone. At the same time, rain is possible in the West and North.
Variable cloudiness and warm summer air remain in all regions. The temperature ranges from +11 to +16 °C, and during the day, it rises to +23 °C to +28 °C. In Transcarpathia and the southern regions, the air will be even warmer: +16…+21° at night, up to +32° during the day.
