In his opinion, the United States may consider Russia a more advantageous partner than Ukraine, as Russia has more resources for the defense industry. This can help in establishing strategic ties between the United States and Russia.

“Putin can reduce these relations to economic cooperation, which can become the basis for discussing security, especially in the Arctic. This is to some extent consistent with what Trump has repeatedly said,” the expert summarizes.
