How is female doctors registered and are they required to attend the CCC?
Women with medical and pharmaceutical education will now be automatically registered for military service. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved changes to the procedure governing this procedure.
Diana Ternova, a military lawyer at the Prykhodko and Partners Law Firm, spoke about the innovation and whether female doctors will need to come to territorial recruitment centers personally.
In Ukraine, the regulation regarding the military registration of women who have received education in the medical or pharmaceutical fields has been updated.
“Now the process has become much simpler and automated: educational institutions independently transfer information about graduates to territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCK and SP),” explains Diana Ternova.
How it works:
After completing their studies, educational institutions send a list of female medical and pharmacist graduates to the TCK within 7 days.
Based on this data, women are included in the Unified State Register of Conscripts, Conscripts, and Reservists.
They are automatically assigned a military registration specialty without passing a medical commission.
Do I need to do anything myself?
Yes. Although the educational institution initiates the first stage, women must visit the CCC independently. Within 60 days after receiving their education, graduates must contact their district (city) CCC to undergo a medical examination, which will determine their suitability for military service, the specialist notes.
Will it be necessary to visit the CCC regularly?
“For women, the rules will be the same as for men who are subject to military service. For example, in the case of receiving a summons, they must appear when called,” the lawyer adds.
What this means in practice:
Graduates will not need to collect certificates, since their data is automatically entered into the system.
The procedure becomes mandatory: now it will be impossible to avoid registration without appearing at the CCC, because the register will already contain information about each graduate.
Actual mobilization will not take place – registration does not mean that the woman will be urgently drafted into the army. It is only a formality to record her as a potential reserve.
