Can I choose a position after mobilization?

After mobilization, finding the desired military position in the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be difficult, since most mobilizers are sent to units where there is the greatest need.

This is reported by the RBC-Ukraine publication.

Lawyer Maria Ganina explained that letters from brigades sent during the training of mobilizers to “transfer” them to a specific unit often turn out to be ineffective.

According to her, in 90% of cases, such requests are ignored during the so-called “busification” and after being sent for training. Usually, mobilizers are forwarded to those brigades where there is the greatest need for replenishment.

Suppose a person knows where he wants to serve, and they are already waiting for him there. In that case, he should take care of the necessary documents for transfer to this unit in advance, for example, by contacting the Recruiting Center, adds Ganina.

What are the differences between recruiting and mobilization?

Officer 1 of the Recruiting Center of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ilya Abel, explained that recruiting is a voluntary mobilization process, where a person has the opportunity to control all stages.

By contacting the 1st Recruiting Center, the client can choose the time of the procedure, the position, and the brigade for service. Thus, the process is under his control until the moment of receiving the “combat summons”, – explains Ilya.

Recruiting centers do not interact with military personnel, so after arriving at the training center, it will not be possible to pick up a mobilized person.

“Not all brigades can fulfill such requests, since each training center has its own list of priority units that it recruits. Therefore, it will be almost impossible to get into a brigade that is not on this list”, – adds the officer.

General mobilization is underway in Ukraine, and the “Reserve+” application is operational, where conscripts can update their data, obtain a military registration document, or check the status of their registration.
