Decree as an alternative to dismissal: delaying the process by prosecutor Maleyev after the NACP inspection
After a high-profile episode on the program “Supermama”, where the prosecutor’s family demonstrated their well-being, the NACP found a violation in the declaration.
The order to dismiss Alexander Maleyev, who held the position of deputy head of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, was issued by the Prosecutor General’s Office. This decision was the result of a submission by the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors. However, the next day after that, Maleyev took maternity leave to care for the child, as reported by “Slidstvo.Info”.
This official attracted attention after participating in the TV show “Supermama”, where he appeared with his former and current wives. During the program, issues such as childbirth in the United States, expensive housing, and financial support from the prosecutor were discussed, which became an opportunity to examine his lifestyle.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption found inaccuracies in his declaration. On July 9, the commission filed a motion for dismissal, and on July 23, the Prosecutor General’s Office issued an order for his dismissal. However, actual dismissal is possible only after the end of the leave.
According to the information received, Maleev is taking leave until September 2026 based on caring for a child under the age of three. It should be noted that his daughter was only 10 months old at the time of filming the show, and the prosecutor himself said that the program was filmed from July 24 to 31, 2024, when the child was a little less than two years old.
When asked by journalists about the reasons for such a decision, Maleev replied: “Why do we have such a right granted by law?” Lawyer Nadezhda Chukhrayeva emphasized that the law prohibits dismissing an employee who is on leave; however, it is necessary to find out whether he was actually on leave at the time the decision to dismiss was made.
Maleev also announced his intention to appeal the decision in court. The court register has registered a case to overturn the dismissal order and reinstate him, which is being considered by the Kyiv District Administrative Court.
The former prosecutor claims that his family does not live in the house shown on the TV show, claiming that his wife’s relatives temporarily borrowed the house for filming.
