Acting Bribe’s Company Commander by Soldiers for Vacation

In the Vinnytsia region, law enforcement officers suspect a 38-year-old woman who is a commander of a company of one of the military units of creating a scheme for personal enrichment. According to the investigation, she allowed her subordinates to leave part without proper grounds in exchange for the financial remuneration, which she received in her bank account or in cash.

It is stated that the woman prescribed documents that recorded “release” from duties, allowing the soldiers to leave the part without consequences. The exposure took place on September 2, when it was detained for the undue benefit.

During the searches at the place of work and residence of the suspect, they found a mobile phone, computer equipment, cash, and rough records. Operational actions were performed by staff of the strategic investigation department in the Vinnytsia region and the Department of Counterintelligence of the SBU.

The actions of the commander qualified under Part 3 of Art. Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, with a possible deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions for a period of up to three years, and confiscation of property. The court decided to remove her from his position to avoid influencing his subordinates in military service.

Also in the Zaporozhye region, a series of abuse among officials, which led to losses of more than UAH 10 million, was found.
