Additional payments to pensioners for merits: from 543 to 826 hryvnias – who will receive these funds
Ukraine has introduced a new pension supplement program for individuals who have made a significant contribution to the country’s development or defense. This initiative provides monthly supplements for two categories of pensioners, ranging from 543 to 826 hryvnia, depending on their merits.
The first category of recipients includes war veterans, combatants, and individuals who have received state awards for their contribution to the defense of Ukraine. These supplements are a token of gratitude for their service and courage. The second category encompasses prominent figures in science, culture, and sports, including champions of international competitions and recipients of state awards. This approach honors those who not only defended the country on the front lines but also contributed to its glory in other spheres.
The size of these supplements is determined as a percentage of the subsistence minimum for persons with disabilities, which currently stands at 2,360 hryvnia. Pensioners must submit documents to the Pension Fund to confirm their status and merits, as this ensures fairness in the calculation of payments.
The Ministry of Social Policy emphasizes that the new system of pension supplements should serve as a symbol of recognition for the efforts of citizens. It is expected that by the end of the year, more than 40,000 Ukrainians will be able to receive these additional payments. The legislation establishes clear guidelines for submitting applications and verifying their authenticity, thereby enhancing the transparency and effectiveness of the program.
