Fraudsters in hiding: underground “office” with telephones found in BC “Illinsky”

Fraudulent call center uncovered in Podil

On September 18, StopKor journalists discovered a new pseudo-investment office on the basement floor of the Illinsky business center, located in the very center of Podil. The monitoring program team detected suspicious activity at 8 Illinsky Street.

At the scene, the journalists discovered a call center with about 70 jobs — a real “fraud enterprise” in the historical district of the capital. During the inspection, dozens of young people who were on their way to “work” noticed the film crew and started running away. This suggests that the working day did not begin as planned, and, apparently, everyone was trying to avoid responsibility for their actions.

The Illinsky business center is a prestigious building located near the Kontraktova Ploshcha metro station. It is positioned as a place that combines the historical atmosphere of Kyiv and modern comfort. The project to modernize the building takes into account its historical and cultural value, incorporating elements of late 19th-century architecture in combination with modern postmodern design. In 2007, “Illinsky” received a diploma as the “Best Administrative Building Built in Ukraine.”

Investigating the owners, it was discovered that the building belongs to LLC “BC on Illinsky”, registered in 2024, with Gennady Zhukov, a Lithuanian citizen, among its founders. He is not a newcomer to business, having owned several companies in Ukraine that are engaged in construction and real estate.

According to media reports, this business center was also previously associated with the interests of billionaire Dmitry Buryak. Recently, fraudulent call centers have been appearing in prestigious locations, presumably in an attempt to improve their image. “StopKor” continues to fight such fraudulent schemes regardless of their location.
