Road accident in Ternopil region: a possibly drunk employee of the CCC tried to escape from the police

On September 17, a video was posted on social media showing the driver of a Skoda trying to escape from police officers, creating dangerous situations on the road.

According to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Ternopil region, patrol officers received a signal that a drunk driver was probably driving the Skoda car and was moving in the direction of Zbarazh, ignoring police demands to stop.

During the pursuit, the driver caused several accidents, resulting in damage to police service cars, a truck, and an Audi passenger car.

Law enforcement officers detained the offender and took him to the Ternopil District Police Department for further investigation. As it turned out, the detainee is a 31-year-old employee of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support of one of the districts.

It was established that a few hours before this incident, the man had already been involved in two accidents while intoxicated.

The issue of imposing administrative sanctions for traffic violations that result in accidents, traffic obstruction, and drunk driving is currently being considered.

In addition, the possibility of detaining the driver in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and entering information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations for resisting police officers (Article 342 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is being considered.
