As a result of the war and mobilization, a significant scarcity is observed in various fields, which affects the business and daily life of ordinary Ukrainians. Kanev residents face problems with the functioning of street lighting, especially at the beginning of autumn, when this issue becomes especially relevant.

The city’s utility stated that it does not have a responsible specialist for the repair and maintenance of power grids. The reason is the lack of an electrician who dealt with these issues. It is currently absent from service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“In connection with numerous citizens’ appeals about the absence of street lighting, we inform that since the middle of July 2025 in KP” City “, there is no electrician, the only employee who was responsible for the repair of street lighting and electrical work. This specialist was called to military service,” said representatives of the enterprise.

There is currently no substitute for the maintenance and repair of street lighting within the company. Thus, the lighting situation in the city remains difficult.
