The first -grader mom expressed dissatisfaction with the imperfection of the school program, noting that children should come to school with good reading skills

The new academic year has just begun, but some parents are already concerned about the school process, teachers, or the curriculum. One of the users of the social network Threads, Valentina Vasilenko, shared her opinion about the program’s complexity in the first class.

Valentina noted that although her son attended preparatory courses before starting study, it did not ease the adaptation to the program. Students have already been tasked with reading sentences, and they cannot understand how possible it is for a first-grader to do so.

In the comments to the publication, other users also expressed their opinions; many of them were surprised by such requirements. They noted that the child studied under the intelligence program of Ukraine, because the NUSH program provides a more gradual approach, including drawing circles and sticks, without returning to reading.

Some of the commentators supported Valentine, certifying that they were working on such a program. Others were asked to share textbooks because different books can be used in various schools, even if they belong to one program.

The task, described as “Read the counter. Listen to the counter. Study it by heart,” raised questions from parents: How can the child handle this task? However, some parents reported that colored circles near the tasks show the level of complexity. For example, “read the counter” – for those who are already able to read, and “listen to the counter” – for those who have not yet learned to read.

Thus, an active discussion on the topic of new approaches in learning and their varied implementation in schools has begun on the network.
