Improvement of Families Support with Children: Changes in Social Payments and Terms of Implementation
In Ukrainian families with children, a significant increase in state aid is expected in 2026.
Representatives from the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine reported this during a presentation on the main aspects of the state budget.
Minister Denis Ulyutin noted that the costs of social needs will reach UAH 467 billion next year, which is 11% more than in 2025. At the same time, the financing of programs that directly support families with children is planned to double, up to UAH 53 billion.
In 2026, several new family support initiatives for children will begin. In particular, approaches to the birth of a child will be revised: one-time assistance will increase to 50,000 hryvnias, and parents will receive increased monthly payments during the first year of the baby’s life.
Ulyutin stressed that the budget plans also provide additional payments for children with disabilities, as well as financing programs for the health and recreation of children.
The primary purpose of these innovations is not only to provide material support to parents but also to create a safe environment that fosters children’s development in a comfortable and healthy setting.
