In Kiev, the DBR conducted a search in the apartment of the former CZR head Valery Kondratyuk

On September 24, the DBR staff searched the apartment of the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Valery Kondratyuk, as part of an investigation into a state contract worth more than 100 million hryvnias.

During the search for Kondratyuk, there was no home; his wife was present at the time. There is no official information on the nature of the investigation. The information was provided by Ukrainian Truth, referring to its sources.

According to the data, investigative actions are carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings opened in July 2025. During the investigation, potential abuses by CZR officials during procurement are examined. In particular, it is an agreement concluded in December 2020 with the C-monitor, which purchased special software to identify threats in the information sphere for the amount of UAH 112 million. According to the investigation, there was no urgent need for such a purchase.

Journalists have applied to the DBR for comment, but no official applications have been submitted yet.

Valery Kondratyuk, a 55-year-old, has extensive experience in special services. He headed the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine from 2020 to 2021, having previously served as deputy head of the Presidential Administration from 2016 to 2019. Additionally, he headed the Main Department of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense from 2015 to 2016 and the SBU counterintelligence department from 2014 to 2015.

The DBR also completed an investigation into two military officials who are charged with altering military credentials illegally. The case will be transferred to court.
