Drone strike on Novorossiysk: hit on Black Sea Fleet base and CPC office

Novorossiysk, located in the Krasnodar region of Russia, was the victim of a powerful attack: drones that hit a hotel, the office of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, and residential buildings. As a result, large fires broke out, and there were deaths and injuries.

On September 24, explosions swept through Novorossiysk in the afternoon, indicating an air and sea attack. Preliminary data suggest the use of Ukrainian drones and sea drones, which tried to hit the naval base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and oil transportation infrastructure facilities.

Residents of the city reported powerful explosions and fire. Videos of smoke over the water and footage of the damaged Novorossiysk hotel appeared on the network. One of the witnesses recorded the moment when an object, probably a drone, hit the sea.

Local Telegram channels reported two uncrewed boats that approached the shore. There are suspicions that they were used to transport drones and launch them from the sides. Russian military publications also confirmed this information.

The authorities report serious consequences: according to the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, the central part of Novorossiysk was affected, with five residential buildings, a hotel, and the CPC office destroyed. As a result of the attack, two people died and three were injured.

CPC confirmed damage to the office, resulting in injuries to two employees. The work on the administrative building was temporarily halted, and personnel were ordered to evacuate. In addition to employees, other people who do not work for the company were also injured.

The city authorities declared a high alert. Some of the damage, according to witnesses, could have been caused by debris after the operation of air defense systems that opened fire within the city.

The General Staff of Ukraine is not commenting on the events at this time. Meanwhile, the drone attacks have led to fuel shortages in various regions of Russia. Moscow and the surrounding areas have also been affected by this problem, including a shortage of AI-95 gasoline, and gas stations have set sales limits.
