The Central Intelligence Agency commented on the possibility of the Russian Federation launching thousands of drones daily
Russia is increasing the production of Shahed drones. According to Western analysts, the occupiers are capable of producing up to a thousand of these drones daily and plan to further increase these volumes in 2026. The head of the NSDC Counter-Disinformation Center, Andriy Kovalenko, commented on these statements.
He noted that in the West, there is often confusion between combat Shahed and imitation drones. Russia produces the latter in much larger volumes, since its production is cheaper.
Kovalenko noted that although Russia does have the potential to increase the production of drones, the figure of a thousand combat Shahed per day remains unattainable. “If the situation develops further, they may be able to achieve this goal, but we are also capable of producing a significant number of drones. All kinds of countermeasures are always foreseen,” he added.
In addition, the official emphasized that the Ukrainian Defense Forces will launch larger strikes in response to the increase in Russian drone attacks. To deter the enemy’s activity, it is essential to destroy Russian production facilities, block supply channels, and destroy drone warehouses.
Analysts note that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has been constantly increasing its strikes and significantly intensified attacks after the talks in Istanbul on May 15, 2025. The former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Mykola Malomuzh, also emphasized the large reserves of drones and missiles in Russia, which allow it to launch massive attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages daily.
