Ветерани та громадські організації Києва просять парламент ухвалити законопроєкти №13376, №13704 і №13705

Veterans and public organizations of Kyiv ask the parliament to adopt bills No. 13376, No. 13704 and No. 13705

In Kyiv, during a roundtable discussion on “Veteran Policy and State Support for Defenders of Ukraine,” bills No. 13376, No. 13704, and No. 13705 were discussed. These initiatives were developed by the inter-factional association for the protection of veterans, headed by Yulia Tymoshenko, with the support of public and veteran organizations led by Valery Dubil.

The main goal of these initiatives is to improve the conditions for treatment, rehabilitation, and prosthetics for military personnel, help them adapt to civilian life, and simplify retirement procedures. The main proposals include:

  • Removing restrictions on the terms and costs of treatment, rehabilitation, and prosthetics, as well as introducing a mandatory military medical commission after discharge from the hospital (bill No. 13704).
  • Development of business entrepreneurship among veterans, providing access to grants and support with benefits and loans for starting a business (draft law No. 13376).
  • Simplify confirmation of insurance experience for military personnel and veterans in case of loss of documents due to aggression or occupation (draft law No. 13705).

Valeriy Dubyl emphasized that the development of the draft laws was carried out jointly with active veterans and representatives of organizations that face problems and needs in this area every day. He emphasized that the process of adopting these draft laws is only the beginning of important work to improve legislation related to defenders.

Kyiv City Council Deputy Yuriy Zubko noted that any decision should be discussed, and it is essential to coordinate the efforts of the authorities, veterans, and public organizations for the practical implementation of the law.

Volodymyr Levin, an activist of Batkivshchyna, called for urgent action by the parliament, emphasizing that delays in adopting draft laws are unacceptable, because every day without addressing the urgent needs of veterans undermines trust in the state.

The roundtable participants adopted a resolution calling on the Verkhovna Rada to adopt draft laws No. 13376, No. 13704, and No. 13705 as soon as possible. These initiatives have already received the support of 191 veteran and military organizations, as well as 71 local councils.

We will remind that Yulia Tymoshenko, together with the inter-factional association for the protection of veterans’ rights, launched a “hotline” to assist with various issues related to the status of veterans, payments, legal services, treatment, and protection of veterans’ rights. Batkivshchyna noted that each appeal helps to identify and solve systemic problems at the legislative level.
