Border guards caught a group of “tourists” a few hundred meters from the state border
In the Chernivtsi region, border guards reported detecting an attempt to illegally cross the state border by a group of people, which included a man from Kyiv and four other men.
According to law enforcement officials, each of the participants paid from 7 to 13 thousand euros for a so-called “escape card”, which was supposed to help them get to Moldova, bypassing official checkpoints.
The movement of this group was recorded in Bukovina. After receiving information about their actions, a response team was sent, which detained the men a few hundred meters from the border.
It turned out that the “tour operator” of this adventure was the administrator of a dubious online community, who sent the participants an electronic map with an alternative route to Moldova that avoided legal routes. At the moment, investigative actions are ongoing.
