Changes in utility benefits: what should be taken into account for recipients

A new pilot project is being implemented in Ukraine to simplify the process of obtaining benefits for housing and communal services for war veterans. The Pension Fund of Ukraine organizes this project in accordance with Resolution No. 1395 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, approved on December 27, 2023.

The key change in the new procedure is the reduction in required documents: veterans now need to submit only one application, which combines registration in the Register of Beneficiaries and the benefit itself. Thus, the amount of information required has been significantly reduced compared to the previous requirements.

The closest relatives of veterans can also apply for benefits, in particular:

– wife or husband;

– adult unmarried children with a disability of group II who received it in childhood;

– parents who are unable to work;

– persons who live with and care for a veteran, if he has a group I disability as a result of the war and is not married.

The application can be submitted in various ways:

– in person at the Pension Fund service center;

– by mail;

– in online format through the Pension Fund’s electronic services web portal, where you can also track the status of the application in the “My Applications” section.

We remind you that it was previously reported that pensioners were owed significant amounts, and the question of whether these funds will be returned remains open. The topics of overdue debt repayment and new rules for resource mobilization and population evacuation in Ukraine were also raised.
