Prolonging the war for years: an unexpected prediction about its end
With the maximum pragmatic approach and full mobilization of human resources, Ukraine can fight Russia until 2042. This became known in the comments of military expert Oleg Zhdanov.
According to him, if we consider the worst-case scenario, the available resources will be enough for the last Ukrainian until approximately 2042. This takes into account human potential and full mobilization. Similar calculations were made earlier, and General Budanov confirmed that under conditions of partial mobilization, identical to the current one, Ukraine will be able to resist until 2030, while with full mobilization, the terms can be extended until 2042.
At the same time, the expert notes that a war of attrition is determined not only by the number of people. Economic issues are also important. If Europe increases its military assistance to Ukraine, the terms and scenarios may change.
According to Zhdanov, Russia can continue the conflict for much longer, as it has a significant numerical advantage. At the same time, Ukraine can compensate for this deficiency only at the expense of modern weapons received from partners. The expert points out that with full mobilization, Russia will be able to fight much longer, as it exceeds Ukraine in numbers by 3-4 times. The Ukrainian side can hope to gain a technological advantage through modern weapons.
Zhdanov also emphasized that during military conflicts, statehood is often destroyed. He recalls that in 2022, Ukrainians tried to understand the motivation of the Russians by appealing to their conscience. These answers were cynical, suggesting that, at the end of the war, processes may arise that lead to the destruction of statehood.
