CCC initiates major inspections: men will have only 5 days

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a decision to extend martial law and general mobilization until February 2026. According to separate bills, martial law will be extended for another 90 days from November 5, 2025. This means that military conscripts with a deferment will need to expand it in November.

Lawyer Darya Tarasenko explained in detail the process of extending deferments. If the deferment was granted through the “Reserve +” system, it will be automatically extended along with the mobilization extension. However, the lawyer recommends verifying the data’s relevance in the registers.

For cases where the deferment was granted by the commission at the CCC and the Joint Venture, the extension is carried out in accordance with Resolution No. 560 of the Cabinet of Ministers of May 16, 2024. Within five days of the issuance of the decree extending mobilization, the CCC must determine whether there are grounds for deferment. If the documents confirm the right to deferment, then its validity date will be updated. Otherwise, the documents are sent to the commission for consideration, which decides whether to cancel. The CCC does not have the right to cancel the deferment on its own.

In situations where the documents do not allow a precise determination of whether the right to deferment is preserved, the CCC contacts the conscript to request supporting documents by phone, mail, or electronically.

Separate rules apply to teachers and scientists, who are granted a deferment for one year, but not longer than the mobilization period. To extend such a deferment, you must submit a certificate of the position held and the share of the salary at the principal place of work one week before the end of the previous mobilization period.

If the CCC does not have current documents in its registers, it may require them to be updated. The lawyer advises submitting new medical certificates or other documents in advance, along with a cover letter.

The data must be verified within five days of the mobilization extension, and during this period, a new deferral date should appear in the register. If this does not happen, you should insist on updating the data or contact a lawyer to submit a request to the CCC and the SP.

Tarasenko noted that although Resolution No. 560 provides for automatic extension of deferrals, in practice, this may not work. She offers three options: do nothing and rely on the system, submit an application requesting a reminder of the deferral extension, or resubmit the entire document package. It is essential to monitor your information in the registers to avoid problems with military commissariats.
