Zelensky warned Europe about the danger from “Oreshnik” from Belarus

The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Main Intelligence Directorate, conducted a successful operation in Kapustyny Yar that destroyed one of the Russian Oreshnik missile systems. The head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, reported this.

He noted that the event occurred some time ago, but the opportunity to disclose the information has only now appeared.

President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the situation, stating that Russia has three Oreshnik complexes, of which only one has been used so far.

The President added, “We believe that the Russians still have the opportunity to carry out up to six launches. They plan to place Oreshnik in Belarus, and the estimated range of this complex may reach 5,000 km. Europeans should pay attention to these risks.”

Zelensky emphasized that such a range threatens not only Ukraine but also other European countries. The use of the Oreshnik would enable precision strikes at long distances, so the international community should not ignore the stated dangers of its deployment in Belarus.

It should also be noted that the launch of the Oreshnik on February 6 failed for the Russian Federation; the second missile, which was aimed at Kyiv, exploded before reaching the border.
