In Odesa, a pro-Russian activist was charged with treason

Prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office filed charges against a former deputy of the Odesa City Council. He is suspected of encroaching on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and treason in cooperation with representatives of the aggressor country. The accusation is based on articles 110, 111, and 28 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the ex-deputy organized citywide actions in support of pro-Russian views. He also called for the introduction of Russian troops under the guise of “protecting the Russian-speaking population.”

In addition, the suspect maintained contacts with representatives of the Russian authorities, providing them with information about the situation in the region and coordinating the activities of pro-Russian structures. He publicly expressed support for the illegal “referendum” on the annexation of Crimea and proposed holding similar votes in Odesa.

On October 29, the man was detained in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. At the prosecutor’s request, the court imposed a preventive measure of detention on him.

It should also be noted that the prosecutor’s office filed lawsuits for 475 million hryvnias with the Commercial Court of Kyiv after uncovering a conspiracy among tender participants. As it became known, in 2021 and 2022, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine purchased state license plates for cars with budget funds.
