A scandal erupted in Ukrainian schools over a new subject to be taught by Steve Jobs
TikTok is actively discussing the issue of teaching financial literacy in schools. The mother of an eighth-grader from Vinnytsia, named Olga, asked who, in her opinion, should introduce this subject.
In the comments, the woman said that an art teacher conducts her daughter’s financial literacy lessons. The video recording gained over 700,000 views and 18,000 likes, and Ukrainians actively expressed their opinions; some commented on the idea of inviting successful entrepreneurs to teach, with irony.
Netizens noted that in reality, this is not realistic: “Do you really think that someone like ‘Steve Jobs’ will come to Vinnytsia to teach children the basics of finance? Unless we should be grateful that the subject even exists,” wrote one of the commentators.
Others offered even more amusing options: “Maybe physical education should be taught to an Olympic champion, physics to a Nobel laureate, and labor training to a factory owner? School is not a business conference.”
Some users challenged the idea that entrepreneurs could teach financial literacy, asking how this entrepreneur would leave his business to teach lessons for 7,000 hryvnias.
One of the most popular comments (over 10,000 likes) read: “The one with fewer hours will lead,” while others shared personal experiences from teaching in schools. Some believed that a financial literacy teacher could be an economics teacher, and entrepreneurs could be invited to regular days to share their experiences.
In general, users emphasized that schoolchildren are taught to earn money by people on low salaries and indicated that such education could be more effective in the spirit of business courses rather than within the framework of a traditional school.
