According to tradition, you need to wake up at dawn and bake bread on this day. It should be brought to the temple for consecration, then divided into two parts and sprinkled with salt. One part of the bread is recommended for livestock to ensure their health over the winter, and the other is to save in case of animal illness. There is a belief that such bread can help even a dying animal, so when buying cattle, pigs, or goats, this piece was often demanded as an addition.

When visiting the church, it is worth buying prosviri, which should be eaten for breakfast and sprinkled with consecrated salt. This will help drive away evil spirits, and if you eat bread and salt with someone you have offended, you will be able to make peace. In folk tradition, it is believed that people with a disadvantage are closer to God, so on this day, you should give them food, clothes, or money and ask for prayers for your health and good luck.

This day is favorable for hunters, since fishermen cannot catch fish yet due to the lack of ice. According to folk signs, if there is a strong wind or bad weather on November 23, you should go outside and ask winter not to be angry so that no disaster happens. If today is sunny, then a person born on this day will be happy.

In the evening, it is best to stay at home, do household chores, make tea from 12 herbs, and pies with mushrooms and cabbage. It is also believed that this is a good time for needlework, sewing, knitting, and other creative activities, because at this time conspiracies for fulfilling desires are especially compelling.
