Daily power outage schedules: why you can’t predict them a week in advance

Ukrenergo is doing everything possible to ensure the stability of the energy system. Still, amid approaching frosts and ongoing missile attacks from the Russian Federation, it is difficult to predict the timing of power outages.

Anatoliy Zamulko, acting head of the State Energy Supervision Service, spoke about the difficulties in predicting power outages for an extended period during his speech in a telethon on November 3.

According to Zamulko, it is currently difficult to precisely determine outage timing. He noted: “Today, Ukrenergo and all systems are working to maintain stability so as not to lose what we already have. Unfortunately, the shelling is still ongoing.”

He also reported that in areas where damage has been recorded, active network strengthening and repair work are ongoing. However, it is difficult to make predictions more than a few days ahead: “It is impossible to predict the situation for a week or two, since in the near future we will enter a period when it will be relevant to increase electricity consumption, including for heating.”

Anatoliy Zamulko also noted that positive changes are possible only if further destruction of infrastructure is stopped.
