Galushchenko and Hrynchuk resign: vote in parliament to take place on Tuesday

The Verkhovna Rada has scheduled the consideration of the resignation of two ministers — Herman Galushchenko and Svitlana Grinchuk — on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

This was announced by MP Yevheniia Kravchuk, deputy head of the “Servant of the People” faction, during a broadcast on the “Rada” TV channel.

Kravchuk noted that the documents for the dismissal of the ministers will be considered at the first plenary session of the week. She expressed confidence that the parliament will support these decisions, and before voting, the issues will go through the relevant committees.

According to Kravchuk, this concerns the resignations of Herman Galushchenko, who held the position of Minister of Justice and previously served as Minister of Energy, and of Svitlana Grinchuk, who held the position of Minister of Energy. Galushchenko filed for dismissal in connection with the corruption scandal at Energoatom and was suspended from his duties. Grinchuk announced her resignation earlier. The application for their dismissal was submitted to parliament by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

Kravchuk emphasized that, although legal procedures may be delayed, this is about the political responsibility of government officials, which is necessary to restore trust, without waiting for the completion of investigations. After the vote, new candidates for these positions should be submitted.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that the ministers of justice and energy should resign due to loss of trust. He emphasized that suspicions should prompt a response, not go unnoticed.

At the court hearing, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office stated that Svitlana Grinchuk, who currently heads the Ministry of Energy, had spent the night with Herman Galushchenko, the former Minister of Energy, several times.
