Every family must contribute to protection
Ukrainian military and former MP Tetyana Chornovol shared her motivation for serving in the army: to ensure her children would not have to participate in hostilities. In an interview, she emphasized that every family should do its part to protect the state, but she does not want her children to risk their lives while she can fight herself.
Chornovol pointed out the importance of conscious choice during war. For many mothers, the biggest challenge is the thought of their children on the front lines. That is why her participation in hostilities allows the family to avoid this and psychological pressure.
She noted, “I believe that every family should provide someone who will fight. I am calm, because from my family it is I who is fighting.” As a mother, Chornovol believes that her greatest fear is the possibility of losing children during war, so she is ready to take on this burden.
In her opinion, while she is fighting, her children may be left behind. This gives her psychological peace of mind, unlike many mothers who are forced to send their children to the front.
