Проректора київського навчального закладу будуть судити за неналежне виконання службових обов’язків

The vice-rector of a Kyiv educational institution will be tried for improper performance of official duties

Kyiv law enforcement officers have charged the former vice-rector of the university with fictitious major repairs of the premises for more than 2.1 million hryvnias.

According to police information, in 2022, an agreement was concluded between the educational institution and a private company to carry out major repairs. However, by signing the act of completed work, the vice-rector confirmed that the contractor had fulfilled all agreements.

As of 2025, in fact, no repairs had been carried out, and design and estimate documentation had not even been created. Nevertheless, the university transferred more than 2.1 million hryvnias to the company for unperformed work, causing damage to the state budget.

Based on the evidence collected, investigators led by the Pechersk District Prosecutor’s Office charged the former vice-rector under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official negligence resulting in grave consequences. Sanctions under this article include imprisonment for up to five years with the possibility of deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
